Marlene Berkoff - San Rafael, Licensed architect in developing complex architecture and planning projects for healthcare and academic clients. Now provides project management, strategic planning and decision-making consulting services to clients and non-profits. Member of CVNL Civic Engagement Leadership Team; BA in Math and Economics from Barnard College, and a B.Arch. and M. Arch. from the University of Michigan.  Senior executive positions in national architecture firms and leader in numerous healthcare, architectural and professional organizations; Past President of the national AIA Academy of Architecture for Health, former President of the Board of Governors for the Architectural College of the University of Michigan, and a Fellow in the American Institute of Architects (FAIA).

J. Patrick Burke, Kentfield, (former MarinSpace board member), is the Managing Partner of a real estate portfolio with properties in Marin, Sonoma, and San Mateo Counties. The properties include industrial, office, and retail real properties. Mr. Burke started in the real estate business as a sales agent with Keegan & Coppin in 1976 and served as Marin County partner with that firm until 2004. He has served on for-profit boards and committees for Gardeners’ Guild, Inc. and Westamerica Bank and as a commentator and columnist for the North Bay Business Journal. Professional affiliations have included the Urban Land Institute, Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR), and Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) of the National Association of Realtors. His non-profit work has included work on boards and committees for Sunny Hills Children’s Garden, Kentfield Schools Foundation, ArtWorks Downtown, College of Marin Foundation, and Easter Seals Northern California.

Alan Johnson – Novato, was CEO of the Bay Area Red Cross and Executive Director of the Suicide Prevention and Community Counseling Service of Marin.  In his retirement, Mr. Johnson is working part time for the American Sailing Association as an Instructor Evaluator and provides Boat Captain services for various sailboat charter companies around the Bay Area.

Cindy Myers – San Rafael,  Executive Director of the Coordinated Youth Services Council, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 25 years of experience in human service. Cindy has a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and a master’s degree in Organizational Development and is currently completing a doctorate in Human and Organizational Systems. She has administered a diverse array of non-profit service programs, including domestic violence, adolescent services, community mental health, drug and alcohol, and youth and family therapy programs. Cindy is the principal developer of the Family Network, CYSC’s family group conference model that has gained national recognition for excellence and effectiveness. She routinely offers training and consultation on that and other collaborative group methodologies.

Linda Novy – Fairfax, is President of Linda J. Novy and Associates, a consulting service dedicated to providing sustainable landscaped management, horticultural consulting and business coaching to property managers and the landscape industry. Ms. Novy, founder of Gardener’s Guild, Inc., served as its CEO until July 2003 when it fully transitioned to a 100% employee owned company. She served as and environmental representative for the Marin Economic Commission and is credited for leading the Commission in developing sustainability guidelines adopted by the Marin Board of Supervisors in the late 90′s. Ms. Novy has won numerous awards in the Bay area and nationally, and served on numerous boards and committees including California Polytechnic University, Marin Horse Council, Marin Conservation League, San Rafael Chamber of Commerce, California Landscape Contractor’s Association, Marin County Parks, Open Space and Cultural Commission, MMWD Citizens Advisory Committee, MCSTPP, And Quarry House, Inc.

Suzie Pollak – San Rafael,  was the Executive Director of both the Marin Council of Agencies and the Volunteer Center of Marin which merged to become Marin Nexus, now currently known as the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership.  She is currently an Independent Consultant/Coordinator for the Marin Center Renaissance Council.  Ms Pollak was a founder and served on the boards of:  Nonprofit Insurance Alliance of California, Nonprofit Policy Council (a program of California Association of Nonprofits), USF Institute of Nonprofit Management. She was a board member of: Executive Service Corps, Junior League of SF, and San Rafael Cultural Affairs Commission.  She was appointed by Marin County Board of Supervisors to serve on Marin’s Private Industry Council and Disaster Council.  In addition  Ms. Pollak currently serves on the boards of MarinVillages, Marin County School to Career Partnership, and the Bothin Family Foundation.

Joseph Valentine – Santa Rosa, retired President of United Way of the Bay Area. Joe spent his entire 63 year career in the nonprofit field: 30 years with United Ways across the country; 11 years as Executive Director of the Morris Stulsaft Foundation and Affiliates Officer with the Community Foundation of Sonoma County; 6 years as Development Director at Boston College and other colleges and universities; 7 years serving as interim executive director for a number of community-based nonprofits; 2 years with the American Heart Association; and, 7 years as a YMCA Youth Director. In addition to his professional roles he has been an active volunteer with a number of nonprofit and professional organizations – such as a Trustee of Springfield College, Board of CompassPoint, NASW, AFP; and currently as a Board member of Sunny Hills Services and CalNonprofits Insurance Services.  Joe was a founding member and a Board Chair of MarinSpace, then known as Community Service Center of Marin.
